Pink Day at Morris and Sons
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness
Month, and Morris in Melbourne are making October not only Breast
Cancer month, but also a month for women all over the world. On the
29th October we will have a pink day at the Melbourne store. Come
and join us for a very pink day. To take part in the proceedings
and to go into the draw to win a very pink hamper of goodies,
including pink champagne, here are the rules:
Come in wearing something pink.
The more pink the better. Bring along a pair of 4mm knitting
needles (or buy a pair in store).
Buy 1 ball of
Morris and Sons Estate 8 ply (50g) or a hank of
Morris and Sons Arabesque 8 ply (200g).
You and a friend could share a hank
of Arabesque! Have a seat and begin to knit a square for the Fistula Hospital. All
the details and the pattern for the squares will be available on
the day. Pink cupcakes, tea and coffee on tap all day. The day
begins at 10:00am and ends at 4:30pm, at which point we will have
the draw.
By the way, you don't have to be in Melbourne to join the squares
knitting project. The squares need to be 25cm square. Knit in
garter stitch, (make sure you slip the first stitch of every row).
Post the squares (address below) to us with the receipt of purchase
of any of the above mentioned yarns and we will enter you in the
draw. Squares to reach us no later than the 28th October. The staff
will sew the squares up and invite you all to add a comment to your
square if you wish. We'll photograph it and have it in our next
e-news. Come along, have a heap of knitting fun and enjoy some
really good company!
Please post squares to:
